Digital Parbandh is dedicated to and inspired by the Gurudwara Sudhar Lehar Movement — the illustrious reform movement that once transformed our institutions. Since the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) plays an important role in managing our sacred institutions, its modernization is essential to upholding its founding principles and enhancing its effectiveness in serving the community.

Gurudwaras have, since their inception, been a dependable pillar of strength, organization and guidance for the community in many aspects. Therefore, this initiative will serve as a catalyst for the broader development of Punjab, while also helping us address several social issues we aim to resolve.

In today’s rapidly evolving world, technology has become an indispensable tool for enhancing efficiency and accessibility. Government records, including complex record systems like NREGA, Adhar and Revenue are now easily accessible to the public. In this spirit, it is our sincere goal that the SGPC may similarly benefit from these digital advancements to further strengthen its esteemed administrative functions.

Furthermore, since younger generations are more digitally connected, this platform will provide an opportunity to actively engage and involve them. Additionally, the improved accessibility will enable a larger section of the Sangat to feel more connected to the organization.

At this initial stage, we have developed an open-source foundational platform—www.collab.DigitalParbandh.org—as a starting point for discussion and collaboration. Open source refers to software whose source code is available for modification and community-based development. Additionally, we are happy to share the source code for independent development.

This initiative is intended to be shaped in continuous collaboration. Thus, we humbly request the esteemed wisdom and leadership of your good-self to help refine and guide its development.

SGPC has many prior commitments to philanthropic endeavors that are both time and resource intensive. Therefore, successful digitization is only possible with the active involvement of Guru Pyari Sadh Sangat Ji, whose collective wisdom and expertise will be invaluable in shaping this endeavor.

Aims & Goals: The Future of Digital Parbandh

With your support, this open-source initiative seeks to assist the SGPC by developing technology-driven solutions. While the possibilities for solutions are plentiful, the key areas we aim to focus on initially are:

1. Printing & Distribution – Time stamping and detailed digital record keeping of the printing and distribution of Holy Saroops of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji Maharaj and other religious scriptures.
2. Financial Accessibility – Mobile apps and dashboards for financial records, costings and fund allocations.
3. Property Management – Digitization of land records, leases and maintenance logs.
4. Institutional Oversight – Digital monitoring of SGPC-affiliated schools, colleges, hospitals and charitable initiatives.
5. Legal Documentation – A centralized repository for contracts, litigation records and legal proceedings.
6. Donation Management – Efficient tracking of all donations including moveable, immovable and perishable.
7. GIS Asset Mapping – Interactive mapping of SGPC properties for better oversight.
8. Dharam Prachar Platform A dedicated digital space for religious outreach, discourse.
9. Calender, Meeting & Project Updates – Regular publication of calendar, minutes of meetings (especially executive), resolutions, and progress reports.
10. E-Tender/Theka System –Digital tender management system for procurement, leasing and theka.
11. Religious & Accommodation Bookings – Online booking services for pilgrims and visitors.
12. HR – A structured system for recruitment as well as salary with safeguards against underpayment.
13. Features as needed – Since this is community driven, we can add features as required.

To uphold formal procedure, we have deliberately refrained from pre-populating any content. We thus seek SGPC’s esteemed guidance and your blessings in curating and managing this platform.

Look forward to working with you. We are confident that, in the future, this effort will be regarded as a turning point—just as Punjab’s remarkable rise to the number one state in the 1950s and 1960s.

Also, given that software is a digital good, the effort invested in DigitalParbandh.org can be leveraged for many other use cases to benefit the state at minimal additional cost. As a digital asset, the platform's core architecture, workflows and functionalities can be repurposed and adapted to serve various state-level initiatives efficiently and cost-effectively.
